High School Football America

High School Football America

The first high school game is an absolute rite of passage for any red-blooded American teenager. Not soccer. Not cricket. Not interpretive dance. Good old in-the-mud high school football.

There’s a reason why the same Friday night tradition continues to be played out across America, year after year after year.

The courage, prosperity, and promise characterized by high school football is a metaphor for what we call the American Way.

The Big Boot

The Big Boot

The reshuffling of Congress, along with the ever expanding strength of Tea Party candidates, will throw a big wrench into the continued destruction of the American Way by establishment politicians.

Thinking about how to write a 1000+ page bill will be the last thing on their little minds. They won’t be jockeying around for committee chairmanships, assignments, or where they are in the pecking order. They’ll be trying to figure out what they’ll do with all that free time on their hands, come January.

As we wake up each morning and begin our day, we all share the same uncertainty as to what actually lays in store for us.  Fate, destiny and the hand of God all play a role in what actually transpires as we go about our daily business.
Rising to our feet, we shake off the grogginess [...]

National Issues Paramount in 2010
By Linda O’Keefe

According to a recent Gallup poll, a candidate’s stand on national issues matters more to the American voter than the candidate’s ability to help people at the district level. Although Democrats are evenly split on this issue with 46% going either way, there has been a steep [...]

Sun Sentinel Editor Discusses Tea Party, Politics

Editor’s Note – An interesting read from the South Florida Sun Sentinel…that the editor even chose to address the topic put’s him a step up on most around the country.  Keep in mind, as he states himself, “an individual’s viewpoint is colored by that person’s own bias”.
Sun Sentinel editor Earl Maucker discussed coverage of recent [...]

Clinton Plotting Tea Party Counterattack

Share

Last week, former President Clinton was rushed to the hospital in New York for an emergency heart operation. Medical experts said the procedure was “relatively routine” and predicted Clinton would make a full recovery and be back to his regular schedule soon. To the public, at least, that schedule revolves chiefly around earthquake relief efforts [...]

The burgeoning tea party movement has already put on a national convention, wooed some big-name backers and – of utmost importance in politics – shown some electoral swagger.
Now, according to Nevada uber-pundit Jon Ralston, it has qualified as a third party in third party-friendly Nevada and plans to field a U.S. Senate candidate.
For Senate Majority [...]

The public’s growing dissent with both the Democratic and Republican parties has revived the call for a third political party to break the present two-party monopoly in American politics.  In Florida, the “Tea Party” has officially formed and registered a political party that in our opinion will only bleed [...]

What’s in a name? Only the true identity of a grass roots movement, says a federal lawsuit filed by a handful of tea party activists against the founders of Florida’s new political party by the same name.
The activists argue that registering “Tea party” as a political [...]

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
