Media Coverage Of May Day Violence Impacts 2012 Election

By Tom Tillison

Tea party supporters will readily recall former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s teary eyed performance as she stood before the media and spoke of the ‘frightening rhetoric’ coming from the grassroots movement, and how this led news coverage all across the nation.

The blatantly false claims of tea party activists ’spitting’ on members of the Congressional Black Caucus still resonates in the media to this very day…

One Chance?

By Allen Wilson

If you were walking down the street with your family and met another man walking down the street with his; and if this man pulled out a gun and threatened you and your family, would you shoot him?

And then, would you shoot his family?

Spreading Rumors Of War

By Tom Tillison

For a party that prides itself on being pacifists, there sure is an awful lot of war talk coming from the Progressive Left.

If any of you are among the unfortunate few who find themselves on the Democrat Party mailing list, then you know exactly what I’m talking about. Please note that I use the terms Progressive Left, Democrat Party and Far Left interchangeably…

Washington Needs A Lesson On Student Loans

The Heritage Foundation

You know a politician is looking for applause when he speaks in front of a crowd of college students and says he’s there to help them pay back their student loans.

After all, who doesn’t like the prospect of free money? But as the saying (sort of) goes, beware of politicians bearing gifts. That’s especially true this week as President Barack Obama travels the country warning students…

Mitt Romney; Thank You America

Florida Political Press

Now that it has been determined that Mitt Romney will be the GOP presidential nominee, it’s time for conservatives to start focusing on the critically important task of defeating Barack Obama and the Progressive Left that have laid siege on the spirit of America.

In this regard, former Gov. Mitt Romney released the following comments today via email…

But What About Justice For Zimmerman?

By Lloyd Marcus

I keep thinking of an episode of the 1973 TV show, “Kojak: The Marcus-Nelson Murders.” Homicide detective Kojak suspects that the black teenager accused of murdering two white girls is being framed by his fellow detectives.

The case gets a lot of media attention; politics and careers enter the mix. The frightened accused black kid pleads his innocence to detective Kojak who believes him…

Florida Political Press

Americans for Prosperity-FL is holding events in Tampa and Naples in early May focusing on the soaring price of gas.

The events will draw attention to President Obama’s continued efforts to stand directly in the way of projects that would create thousands of American jobs and reduce energy costs, hurting those Americans he promised to look out for.

Entitlement Spending And The 2012 Election, According To Tocqueville

By Tom Tillison

On the O’Reilly Factor last night, host Bill O’Reilly pointed out that almost 150 million Americans are receiving some form of government assistance.

150,000,000.

Which means that if you are not on the receiving end of some type of financial assistance from Uncle Sam, or state and local government, the person standing next to you is.

The Bloated Government Of America

The Heritage Foundation

The General Services Administration blew through $820,000 in taxpayers’ money in a lavish “team building” trip to Las Vegas, and President Barack Obama is “apoplectic” at the news, according to the president’s campaign advisor, David Axelrod.

Obama, he says, has devoted his efforts to saving “tens of billions of dollars” in cutting waste, fraud and inefficiency in government. Yet under President Obama’s leadership, government spending keeps growing irresponsibly…

Heritage; The Governing Class And Us

The Heritage Foundation

In a speech yesterday in Elyria, Ohio — a small town just outside Cleveland sitting at the forks of the Black River — President Barack Obama delivered a politically charged speech in which he hearkened back to the country’s roots, saying that his opponents “don’t seem to remember how America was built.”

In his view, taxpayers want their money spent in ways that will help further “the larger project we call America.”

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
