100 Days Later, Obama Still Failing the Gulf

By Rory Cooper
The Heritage Foundation

Over the last four weeks, The Heritage Foundation sent multiple teams of respected energy, environment, homeland security and response experts to the Gulf to study the federal response to the oil spill. These three delegations, with more to come, have traversed the areas hit hardest by the crisis, talking to response workers, affected oil crews, fishermen, elected leaders and BP representatives.

What we found is simple: President Obama’s administration has turned a crisis into a disaster, and someone needs to be held accountable.

White House Sends 2012 Rescue Team To Florida

Editor’s Note – It’s officially an ‘emergency’ now! The White House has dispatched a ‘Rescue Team’ to the Florida Gulf Coast.

Are they coming to Florida to rescue the residents of the region who’ve been devastated economically by this crisis? Perhaps, to rescue the wildlife that has been decimated by this environmental disaster?

Uhhh…no. The ‘team’ is coming to Florida to rescue Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election hopes.

Jindal; Ban On Deep-Water Drilling Adds Insult To Injury

Louisianans, of all people, don’t want to see another drop of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico. It is our land and our way of life that are being harmed. Yet the administration tells our people to simply file a claim with BP or file for unemployment. Our people want to work, not collect unemployment checks.

We don’t want to see the federal government create a second disaster, an economic disaster, for the people of our state thanks to its “capricious” and “arbitrary” actions. The bottom line is this: Thousands of Louisianans shouldn’t have to lose their jobs just because the federal government can’t do its job.

83 Days And Counting – Gulf Oil Disaster

It has now been 83 days since the explosion on the Horizon Deep Water Oil Rig explosion and the mismanagement of the aftermath by the Obama administration has been staggering.

In fact, this has gotten so bad that even the usually complicit left wing media is turning on Obama. The best example yet that elections do indeed have consequences.

Obama Hits Golf Course – Again!

Obama Hits Golf Course – Again!

Editor’s Note – Not being one to get lost in the minor details, and fully understanding that we all need occasional time away to clear our minds, it is becoming increasingly irritating to hear that Obama is yet again out on the links enjoying himself.

Again, his supporters will quickly jump on this and make the claim that people on the right are just looking for excuses to criticize Obama. Of course, they’ll conveniently look past the very same treatment that Bush received while in office.

Editor’s Note – It appears that ‘ol Charlie is following in his mentors steps and not allowing a serious crisis to go to waste.  This decision to call for a special session is also a good sign that he’s gotten all the mileage he can get out of showing up and walking along the beaches of [...]

Tea Party Activists To Host Gulf Coast Telethon, Seeking Celebrities & Others To Help

Editor’s Note – Local tea party activist and OPP co-founder Jason Hoyt is heavily involved in this effort.

It’s becoming clear that the Gulf oil spill is worse than what people are being led to believe, and, true to it’s origin, the tea party movement is looking past government in a noble effort to assist the residents of the Gulf that have been most affected by this disaster.

Hollywood, huh? Good luck with that…

On June 29, 2010 I was privileged to be given the opportunity to travel to Navarre, Florida with Patricia Sullivan (candidate for 8th US Congressional District Representative), Jason Hoyt (broadly recognized Tea Party movement leader and host of Tea Party Patriots Live radio show), and Allen Wilson (videographer).

Justice Ginsburg Violates Her Oath

Justice Ginsburg Violates Her Oath

By KrisAnne Hall

Our founders deliberately did not establish a democracy, because in that form of government, the majority would always choke to death the desire for Liberty of a minority. Yet another point that Mrs. Ginsberg might be wise to share with Egypt instead of encouraging them to strive “to achieve a general democracy…”

The dichotomy of her praise and criticism of our founders and our Constitution shows that she is greatly misinformed of both…

Decision 2012, What Does It All Mean?

By Allen Wilson

Good bye Presidential hoopla we’ll see you in August.

But for now, let’s turn our thoughts to more pressing problems for Florida and the nation. Fasten your seat belts folks; it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

This won’t be a Tea Party vs the Establishment event, that’s just so 2010. No, this is a showcase for Agenders, Fair Taxers, Occupiers (well they don’t really vote do they”), and GOOOH’ers…

Tired Of Political Elitists Picking Our Candidates?

By Rick Steeby

I am not a fan of this two-party system where your personal beliefs have to be compromised to one party platform or the other based on the lesser of two evils.

I am reminded of my own words of how Congress has become entrenched and regardless of party they are more concerned with the power and the prestige of office then in service to their country.

Romney Wins, What’s Next?

By Tom Tillison

So after three years of toil by thousands of average everyday citizens who’ve sacrificed far more than they ever cared to, Florida supports John McCain yet again, just in a prettier package.

And just as in 2008, Florida will be the impetus that thrusts this better wrapped version identified as Mitt Romney one step closer to an eventual match up with Barack Obama.

There will be plenty of coverage breaking down the final numbers…

Clouds On A Sunny Day

By Allen Wilson

I remember the instant that the mood changed.

As my lens focused beyond the Washington Monument and upon the Capital Dome I recognized that I no longer felt proud of this city. I was embarrassed that under that dome sat men and women who first thought of themselves before they thought of their nation.
