Scott Polls Best Against Sink, McCollum Trails Democrat

Editor’s Note – Rick Scott is polling better than McCollum against Democrat opponent Alex Sink, in fact, McCollum trails Sink in the poll results!

The one persistant argument from many is that Scott will not win the general election, yet, Rasmussen begs to differ.

Is this the death blow to McCollums’s campaign? Is there still time to turn these numbers around? The trend is not going in the right direction for McCollum at this point and time is running out.

Bill McCollum, Rick Scott Face Off In Debate

Editor’s Note – With time running out, and his campaign woefully short of funds, McCollum may have missed an opportunity to truly seperate himself from Rick Scott in yesterday’s debate.

With a least one more shot with an upcoming second debate, the window is closing quickly for McCollum. There was an agreed upon third debate, however, it’s still up in the air.

Down in the polls and time working against him, what can McCollum do to change the momentum in this race?

Recent News Favors Scott over McCollum

Editor’s Note – Things are not looking good for Bill McCollum at the moment. Already behind in the polls, and with this weeks court ruling, Scott is about to turn the money spigot back on.

Can McCollum pull this out? Time is running out and he has yet to capture the imagination of the voters of Florida. Adding to his troubles is a strong anti-incumbent feeling amongst voters.

Perhap’s, it’s time to start sizing up Rick Scott against Alex Sink, who’s seen a recent rise in the polls, largely due to all the mud slinging coming from the Republican side.

The Taxpayer Bailout of Bill McCollum

The Taxpayer Bailout of Bill McCollum

Editor’s Note – Didn’t know that you were funding Bill McCollum’s campaign? With over four weeks remaining, the amount of money to be received by McCollum is going to be substantial.

If you’re feeling a little heartburn over this, let it be a lesson that the public must pay attention to what our ‘representatives’ do in Tallahassee. We’ve heard the saying that elections have consequences, well, so too does apathy…

Judge Throws Out Scott’s Challenge, Scott Plans Immediate Appeal

Judge Throws Out Scott’s Challenge, Scott Plans Immediate Appeal

Editor’s Note – Not sure if you catch it or not, however, by requiring the state of Florida to match Rick Scott’s spending, you have to ask one question – where is Florida getting the money from?

…some Florida taxpayers may be pleased to learn that they’re now supporting Bill McCollum’s campaign, others may not be!

Give’s one good reason to question a law such as this.

Scott Targets ‘Millionaire’s Amendment’ McCollum In Lawsuit

Editor’s Note – Things are quickly going from bad to worse in the Florida Governor’s race.

This no longer little war between Scott and McCollum is beginning to give every Republican in the state cause for shame. Particularly now that RPOF Chairman John Thrasher has decided to enter the fray.

Not sure if it’s sheer desperation on the part of the establishment, and, naturally, each side is pointing the finger at the other for ratcheting up the rhetoric, but this battle is creating a real civil war amongst Republicans at the worst possible time.

Editor’s Note – Is the governor’s race beginning to shape up as ‘out with the old, in with the new’?
With Rick Scott entering the race, Bill McCollum cannot continue on ‘auto-pilot’, which he seems to get.  However, is his campaign simply lacking the new and innovative thinking needed to compete with Scott?
By employing the ‘politics [...]

Editor’s Note – I think it may be time for the McCollum campaign to hit the panic button.  Even his supporters acknowledge that he is a ‘granola’ candidate, however, these numbers are probably a better representation on the anti-incumbent feeling that is sweeping across this nation.

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
