Mr. President: Why Refuse To Answer Whether The Justice Department Issued A Legal Opinion?

By David S. Addington

It is reasonable that people are asking the White House whether a Department of Justice legal opinion was issued before the President made the purported recess appointments. The question of the existence or not of such a legal memo has a bearing on the judgment of the President.

If such a Department of Justice memo exists, then at least the country knows that the President demonstrated at least some measure of prudence and thought in testing the outer limits of the Constitution

Headlines Continue To Target Rick Scott, Republicans

Headlines Continue To Target Rick Scott, Republicans

By Tom Tillison

In today’s fast paced society, most people have a very short attention span and rarely bother to look beyond the headlines when reading the news of the day. It’s fair to say that headlines play a critical role in shaping the impression of those who read the news.

It’s also fair to say that Gov. Rick Scott has few friends in the media and gets his share of critical coverage. Many believe the foundation of this precarious relationship is rooted in…

AG: Florida Health Challenge To Proceed

Florida’s lawsuit against the new federal health care law isn’t any less important in light of a ruling Monday by a federal judge in Virginia invalidating a key component of the law, backers of the Florida challenge said.

In statement released shortly after Monday’s ruling, Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum said the state will proceed to make arguments Thursday in Pensacola asking U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson to go further than the Virginia ruling by invalidating the expansion of Medicaid to nearly 2 million anticipated additional recipients whose care would be partially paid by the state under the new law.

What’s Going On With The Florida Attorney General Race?

What’s Going On With The Florida Attorney General Race?

One of my favorite movie lines is from the movie Tombstone, when the villian Johnny Ringo challenges Wyatt Earp to a gunfight. When Earp ignores his challenge, Val Kilmer’s character, Doc Holliday steps off the porch and says “I’ll be your huckleberry”…

So, in that spirit, in an age where most are unwilling, I will ask the obvious question; What in the heck is going on with the Florida Attorney General race???

McCollum Proposes Immigration Bill Similar To AZ

Editor’s Note – The announced immigration bill proposal is definately red meat for the conservative base. Polls indicate strong support for tough immigration laws and this will be seen as a positive step in addressing an important issue.

However, Bill McCollum’s timing is highly questionable.

Don’t take my word for it, take it from nationally known columnist Charles Krauthammer; “I think the fact that it was announced today is pure opportunism. It looks like it’s a Hail Mary [McCollum] is throwing with a few weeks to go. I’m not sure I would take it that seriously.”

Kottkamp, Bondi, Marriage and Family

Kottkamp, Bondi, Marriage and Family

Over the weekend, John Stemberger, head of the Florida Family Policy Council, which led the campaign to get the marriage amendment passed last election, publicly endorsed Jeff Kottkamp for Attorney General.

Stemberger, who tried to warn people about voting for Charlie Crist, is now issuing a similar warning about Pam Bondi. The issue has become somewhat controversial because Stemberger pointed out that Bondi “has no children and lives with her 60 year old eye doctor boyfriend.”

This has aroused criticism from the usual suspects, such as The Miami Herald and and Palm Beach Post who clearly think that John Stemberger was out of line to even question a candidates relational status.

Florida Attorney General Candidates Match Wits In TV Debate

Editor’s Note – The Attorney General race may not be quite as ’sexy’ as the Gubernatorial race, however, it will be a position of critical importance in the state in the coming months.

The Attorney General will continue to play a critical role in the challenge to ObamaCare and the illegal immigration issue, which has yet to be addressed by the Florida Legislature.

This debate was held this past Saturday and is one of the few times the race will be highlighted.

Justice Ginsburg Violates Her Oath

Justice Ginsburg Violates Her Oath

By KrisAnne Hall

Our founders deliberately did not establish a democracy, because in that form of government, the majority would always choke to death the desire for Liberty of a minority. Yet another point that Mrs. Ginsberg might be wise to share with Egypt instead of encouraging them to strive “to achieve a general democracy…”

The dichotomy of her praise and criticism of our founders and our Constitution shows that she is greatly misinformed of both…

Decision 2012, What Does It All Mean?

By Allen Wilson

Good bye Presidential hoopla we’ll see you in August.

But for now, let’s turn our thoughts to more pressing problems for Florida and the nation. Fasten your seat belts folks; it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

This won’t be a Tea Party vs the Establishment event, that’s just so 2010. No, this is a showcase for Agenders, Fair Taxers, Occupiers (well they don’t really vote do they”), and GOOOH’ers…

Tired Of Political Elitists Picking Our Candidates?

By Rick Steeby

I am not a fan of this two-party system where your personal beliefs have to be compromised to one party platform or the other based on the lesser of two evils.

I am reminded of my own words of how Congress has become entrenched and regardless of party they are more concerned with the power and the prestige of office then in service to their country.

Romney Wins, What’s Next?

By Tom Tillison

So after three years of toil by thousands of average everyday citizens who’ve sacrificed far more than they ever cared to, Florida supports John McCain yet again, just in a prettier package.

And just as in 2008, Florida will be the impetus that thrusts this better wrapped version identified as Mitt Romney one step closer to an eventual match up with Barack Obama.

There will be plenty of coverage breaking down the final numbers…

Clouds On A Sunny Day

By Allen Wilson

I remember the instant that the mood changed.

As my lens focused beyond the Washington Monument and upon the Capital Dome I recognized that I no longer felt proud of this city. I was embarrassed that under that dome sat men and women who first thought of themselves before they thought of their nation.
