Webster; Budgets, CR’s And Debt Ceiling, Oh My!

By Bernadine Galate

Rep. Daniel Webster (R-D8) continued his Spigot of Spending (SOS) Town Hall meetings in Oakland last night at the Oakland Town Hall. Here are some general notes I took and a few personal observations.

Dan Webster got right to business explaining the parts of the budget that are on auto pilot as far as spending, using charts to illustrate his points…

Alan Grayson Frivolous Lawsuit Tossed By DC Court

By Tom Tillison

Not only has former Congressman Alan Grayson been thoroughly rejected by the voters of FL-CD8, he can now add the D.C Court of Appeals to his list of rejecters.

A frivolous lawsuit Grayson filed against AT&T, in which he glorifies himself as being a “whistle blower”, was tossed on Friday for being “legally insufficient”.

Guetzloe, Grayson; Spotted Together This Weekend In Orlando

The dastardly duo of Alan Grayson and Doug Guetzloe were spotted sitting together this past weekend in Altamonte Springs.

This very well could be the first time since the beginning of the 2010 election cycle that the two men have been seen together in the public.

Each were attending a a debate this past Saturday at the Hilton in Altamonte Springs, as part of the regional gathering of Mensa, the worldwide organizer for people with high I.Q.s. It was unclear why either would be attending such a gathering…

Orlando Political Press Presents; Florida’s Top 10 People Of The Year

The year 2010 has come to an end and what better time is there to look back on who stood out, made a difference and set a positive example for his/her fellow Floridians.

This Top 10 list is focused on the political spectrum, as to be expected and is not all inclusive. The challenge is generating a top 10 list is that you will inevitable overlook a crucial name or include a name that will make others cringe. Which is what makes such lists fun!

Egad, Alan Grayson For President???

Alan Grayson…President?

Reminds me of a Jack Nicholson line in the movie ‘As Good As It Gets’;

“Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City sailor wana hump hump bar or is this getaway day, and your last shot at his whiskey. Sell crazy someplace else, we’re all stocked up …”

Webster/Adams Pass On Federal Health Care Plan

Yet another refreshing change of pace – congressmen who not only talk the talk, but actually walk the walk.

And, an early sign that the residents of Central Florida chose well in selecting Sandy Adams and Dan Webster to represent them.

With many difficult decisions awaiting both, let’s hope that this is, to borrow from the line in the movie Casablanca, ” the beginning of a beautiful friendship”.

Video; Alan Grayson Auditions For MSNBC On House Floor

It seems that Grayson just may be auditioning for MSNBC right on the House floor! It would be hilarious, in fact, Grayson himself seems on the verge of cracking up at any moment, except that we are still paying this buffoon.

Perhaps’ the citizens of FL-CD8 should start an initiative to force Grayson to return his salary to the tax payers, as it’s obvious that he no longer takes his job seriously. Assuming he ever did!

The View From the Top is the Higher Summit Beyond

By Allen Wilson

Without a focus for anxiety will we end up like the Obamania bunch that didn’t show up on Tuesday?

Will a million people travel to Washington D.C. or their respective state houses or city halls on January 3, 2011 to let their legislators know we are watching still?

Webster Victory Proves Who The Real Tea Party Is

By Ron McCoy
West Orlando Tea Party

We only ask that Daniel Webster fight for American values and we will ask for nothing more.

If Daniel Webster can go to Washington and lobby for ‘we the people’, he has the support of all of us and we are behind him. I hope Congressman Webster reaches out to us in the tea party to preserve what we all fight so hard for……our kids and the Dream. I believe he will.

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
