The Pickens Plan & Crony Capitalism

By Ned Ryun

I still find it strange when those who claim they believe in free enterprise, limited government, reducing government intervention in the marketplace and fiscal responsibility, suddenly take an “Everywhere but in my house” approach. I am referring to the more than 80 House Republicans, many of whom claim to be conservatives, who are co-sponsoring H.R. 1380, otherwise known as the Pickens Plan after Texas energy tycoon, T. Boone Pickens.

Our Lives, Fortunes & Sacred Honor – All Gave Some

By Jason Hoyt

In March of 2011, I was asked by Michael Patrick Leahy, founder of the popular Twitter hashtag #TCOT (Top Conservatives on Twitter), creator of the TCOT Report, and co-host of the original conference calls that launched the nationwide tea party movement, to join the Advisory Group for the new eBook series, “Voices of the Tea Party”.

The series is being published by Broadside Books, a division of Harper Collins.

George Washington; Thanksgiving Proclamation

[New York, 3 October 1789]

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor– and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God…

Video; David Barton of Wallbuilders Endorses Marco Rubio for US Senate

Every Wednesday evening, a group of Orlando patriots gather to watch The American Heritage Series, hosted by David Barton of Wallbuilders. The series of 26 episodes presents the education we never received in school about our nation’s founding.

David Barton is the largest private owner of original documents before 1812 and he presents those documents and more throughout the series as proof of our founders original intent along with the role our Creator played in the forming of our country.

A Tea Party Pledge to the 112th Congress

A Tea Party Pledge to the 112th Congress

We the citizens of America, having been faithful to the traditions of our Founding Fathers and those dedicated to the long-established American dream, pledge to be constantly vocal, vigilant, and instructive to Congress and the executive branch of the federal government regarding our feelings for, and rights under, the Constitution. We will persistently call upon the GOP to mean what they say with their Pledge to America dated September 23, 2010, and:

Never again allow the GOP, home of traditional conservatism, to hijack our dreams with moderate and liberal positions contrary to our American values, annually scoring each and every member of Congress on their adherence to the Pledge to America.

In September 2009, www.BankruptingPA.org launched the above video, The Story of Spending, which shows a timeline from President Roosevelt in 1933 where federal government spending per household increased from $3,474 to President Obama’s 2009 budget of $33,932 per household. Obama’s 2010-2019 agenda, however, is projected to cost a whopping $184,000 per household. Where [...]

The Left’s Psychological Assault on Independence

By Jason Hoyt

The American Thinker recently published an article backed by research and published findings regarding a topic that seems to have risen to a boiling point in America, especially with this administration’s stated goal of “social justice”.

For a over a century now, the progressive left has assaulted our national as well as individual independence, and many communities have fallen for their dangerous promises.

With so many Americans engaged in this great political awakening, we must determine how to engage troubled communities throughout this great country and dislodge them from the bondage of dependence and victimization. If we don’t, who will?

Ex-Florida GOP Chair Greer Arrested on Unknown Charges

Former Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) was arrested today. A small step in reforming the party, indeed. We need not forget this and remind existing and all future party leaders of the consequences of their actions,…or better yet, ensure people like this aren’t elected to their positions.

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
