9-9-9 Is Not The Reason To Vote For Herman Cain

If you have not heard of the 9-9-9 Plan by now, you must be sleeping under a rock at a local Occupy Wall Street protest. Like everyone else, I want to learn more about the plan but I’m more concerned that people realize and understand that the substance behind the man is more important than the substance behind the plan.

I have yet to meet too many people who enjoy dealing with our current tax code and the IRS. Most everyone agrees we should get rid of it and simplify the process. It is a tangled mess that only benefits those who can afford high priced lobbyists or experienced tax lawyers. For most of us, it is a headache and a waste of valuable time and resources.

There is also an element in our society who avoids the system altogether due to acquiring their income through black market activities like drug dealing and prostitution. It would be nice to have them pay federal taxes and I that is one of the appealing factors to the national sales tax component that people are missing.

Opponents are focused on convincing Americans that the 9-9-9 Plan will hurt the poor and working class. I do not believe this is the case and if it turns out to be the case, Mr. Cain would be the first one to make an adjustment as he did today(9-0-9).

When you look at how viscously he has been attacked for coming up with a plan to simplify everyone’s lives and create jobs, you can clearly see who is threatened. After all, if you control the purse strings you control power and some people just can’t fathom the idea of losing control of their minions.

Right after the Florida Straw Poll last month, I talked to a reporter who called me about Herman’s 9-9-9 plan. I was quick to point out that it was not the plan itself responsible for boosting Mr. Cain in the polls but rather the substance behind the man and his boldness to take on Washington and politics as usual. The fact is that he has a great track record in the private sector and his leadership ability attracts many of us to him. When you look at the polls, it is apparent others are seeing this as well.

He is a man who can lead and inspire this country as he has done in the private sector with huge success. He is completely genuine and has no other goal in mind other than to get our country back on track and save us from the spending binge that has gotten steadily worse over the last few years.

I believe he is smart enough to realize he doesn’t have all of the answers to our problems we face today and some of his plans may need some tweaking. His 9-9-9 plan will most likely need some work and modifying and I am okay with that. It is irrelevant in my mind because I know where his heart is and why he has proposed such a bold plan.

The media and political analysts continue to banter about how Cain can’t win because he doesn’t have the money or organizational structure in place in places like Iowa, South Carolina and Florida. I don’t believe money matters nearly as much anymore given the power and rise of the internet.

As far as organizational structure, Herman Cain has well over 140 tea party groups here in Florida alone who would go the extra mile to see him defeat BarOccupy OBama in 2012. I am convinced that people like Bill O’Reilly and Karl Rove are truly living in a bubble and rarely talk to ordinary Americans. Eventually, they will not be able to continue to claim Mitt Romney as the odds on favorite to win the nomination and recognize what the people have been saying for a while.

If they talked to regular folks like we do, they would hear the overwhelming support people have for Mr. Cain and the passion that goes with it. Throw in some fair tax supporters who are in the millions and you have a full fledged army of support that Romney and Perry could only dream of.

Of all of the candidates running for President, I trust Herman Cain to lead our country back to greatness and believe over time more people will begin to see past the plan and look at the man and his character.

America is yearning for a strong leader like Herman Cain.

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

The Interest Bomb Is Ticking

By: George Noga

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
