James DeCocq, Candidate for Florida State Senate Wins The Conservative Roar Event Poll With 75% of the Vote
Orlando, FL (September 6, 2011) – James DeCocq, candidate for Florida State Senate decisively won the straw poll held at the Conservative Roar Event on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in I-4 Corridor Rally in Sanford, Florida. The straw poll results showed a 75% win for James DeCocq.
“I am honored to have won the straw poll. It was the first straw poll of the season and my first win. It’s definitely exciting to have the support of the people. I think it’s a clear message to Tallahassee that the citizens of Florida are ready for real tax and spending reform and ready to stand behind candidates that can get the job done.” stated DeCocq. “I want to thank everyone who came out to this event and everyone that voted in the straw poll.”
The event, which was hosted by NewsTalk 660 WORL and broadcast live, featured GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain. The gathering of conservative voters included people from Brevard, Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties.

About James DeCocq For Florida State Senate, District 24: James DeCocq is a small business owner with extensive experience in building and sustaining cost efficient municipal governments. He is a graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in marine biology. He is a second generation Belgium immigrant. He is married to Mayra Etayo-DeCocq daughter of Cuban immigrants. The couple has one daughter and the family resides in Avalon Park.
