Remember the Alamo I-4 Corridor!

By Jason Patrick Sager

Way back in 2009 I decided to throw myself to the wolves and run to represent my friends and neighbors in our Federal House for Florida’s 5th District. I was defeated in the primary because I refused to play the establishment’s game and throw principle to the wind for the sake of some political party’s mascot.

I am a republican not because I want to be a member of my local Republican Elite Club but because I believe in the concept of a republican form of government. A form of government that is guaranteed to all of us in Article IV Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution.

This of course did not bode well with the “established” entitled class that is now in charge of a political party that bears the republican name. I was told on multiple occasions, “We will never support you if you don’t agree to play ball”. I refused to the very and end and needless to say, I was eventually crushed under the weight of their campaign coffers and “fuzzy truth” machine.

I woke up this morning to learn about how the representatives of these “ball players” are trying an end run around our governor on the issue of High Speed Rail in my home state of Florida.

Twenty six State Senators, 15 are members of the Republican Party only for the purpose of getting themselves elected to public office, have drafted a letter to (R) Ray Lahood, our Federal Transportation Secretary, pleading with him to hold off on sending “our rail money” to another state until they can figure out a way to circumvent their very own Governor.

This is how a republic begins to fail. We must never forget that we are the only true republic on planet Earth. Our republican form of government is based on the idea that our States and not our federal government have sovereign control of all things within their borders (Actually it’s the individual and ultimately God, but that’s discussion for another day).

Our States came together in 1787 and formed a contract between themselves that would allow them to work together for only those things specifically listed in Article I Section 8 of that contract. According to the 10th Amendment of that contract, everything not listed specifically in that section is left to the States and the residents of them to take care of on their own. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less.

We now live in a bizarre point in our history when our State Legislatures are ignoring their own contract and trying to take matters into their own hands circumventing their own State’s wishes.

State representatives have absolutely NO authority in either the State or Federal Constitutions to lobby the other States (The Federal Government) directly for any money they wish to acquire. The Governor of the State is the supreme executive of the State and if he says no to the Federal Government that is the end of it. He is after all the Chief Executive and Commander-in-Chief of our State government and military. If we sit back and let this go on, the precedent we set for our Republic is horrifying at best.

The question that no media outlet has yet to ask is, what is their motivation? Why would 15 State Senators sell their soul and the people who elected them down the river for a project that is not wanted by the people who will pay for it?

If the thought of being thrown out of office does not spook a politician then there is only one answer. Money. Is it that 15 Republican Senators stand to loose a great deal of personal wealth and easy cash dumped into their campaign coffers if they go along with the Governor on this?

You can’t possibly believe that our president is the only politician in America who wants to “invest” your money for you now do you? Don’t you find it odd that every one of the 15 stood up on rooftops telling the Federal Government to curb spending while at the same time taking every penny they could get? Are we trying to win the future for Florida or are we trying to win the future for only those with inside information on the future of this project?

What is clear is that these 15 State Senators are not republican in any sense of the word. They may very well be a member of the political party, but actual true believers in the Republic they are not. You can not be considered a republican and try to circumvent the republican form of government at the same time. I am sorry folks, you just can’t have your train and ride it too.

The only question I have for you when any of the 15 comes up for re-election and faces a primary challenge is, “Will you remember the Alamo I-4 corridor?” Their investors hope you don’t.

Do any of the 15 R-FL State Senators belong to you?

Senator Greg Evers, 2nd District
Senator Stephen Wise, 5th District
Senator Andy Gardiner, 9th District
Senator Mike Fasano, 11th District
Senator Dennis Jones, 13th District
Senator Paula Dockery, 15th District
Senator Jack Latvala, 16th District
Senator Mike Bennett, 21st District
Senator David Simmons, 22nd District
Senator Nancy Detert, 23rd District
Senator Thad Altman, 24th District
Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff, 25th District
Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto, 27th District

Jason I am still in awe of you and what you taught me about my Country. I, and many others my friend, still have you in our hearts and minds and are hoping that you will emerge again to take your place in history. I just sense that this is fact as you have more people speaking your name than you have knowledge. I was so disappointed that you were not in my District and therefore could not vote for you.
Thanks for the information and I suspected as much. How could they do this to their own State and Country? I will get these names out to our Tea Party so we are aware of who these traitors are. I plan on calling a few of them myself! This so angers me!!!!!!

Great article. We also see from Congressman Nugents vote today on HR 1473, also known as the continuing resolution, today that he is not serious about tackling our fiscal crisis. If you choose to challenge him again in the primary for the 5th district. You have my support.

War On Women Can Be Fought At The Polls

By Kim Carroll

Women have the power. They take their right to vote seriously and show up at the polls in greater numbers than men according to the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University.

In 2008, 60.4 percent of eligible female voters cast their vote versus 55.7% of eligible males. According to the same study, more women are registered to vote than men, 66.6 million versus 63.5 million. Maybe that’s why the “War on Women” has taken a front seat in this election…

This post kicks off a three-part series about the crisis of spending, debt and deficits.

The next part deals with the interval between now and the inevitable arrival of the Minsky Moment, i.e. the unknown and unknowable time when an unsustainable economic phenomenon suddenly collapses.

The third post will address Gotterdammerung, or what happens after the Minsky Moment.

Is Mack Campaign Getting Desperate?

By Tom Tillison

It’s a fair guess that Connie Mack has seen some recent polling that has gotten his attention.

As the week closed out, the rhetoric coming from the Mack campaign took on a rather fervent pitch. In a press release sent out Thursday, it made the claim that opponent George LeMieux has “endorsed raising Florida’s sales tax to a nation-leading 16 percent.”

Obama’s IPAB Death Panels Limit More Than Just Health Care Access

By L. Persona

Florida Democrats believe they can win a few Republican seats in Congress and are preparing a major offensive against several Republicans facing tough challenges this year. They believe that redistricting gives them a chance to offset the seats they are sure to give up.

However, the Democrats still fail to realize the albatross that ObamaCare places on their party’s efforts…

A Black Guy At The Dallas, TX Tea Party Rally

By Lloyd Marcus

A big well dressed black guy attended the Dallas, TX tea party rally with his white buddy. Both men missed my singing performance on stage minutes earlier.

I asked the black gentleman who had an impressive physique how often he worked out. He replied, “Everyday.” His white buddy said with a chuckle, “He thinks the Tea Party is racist.”
