Central Florida Tea Party Council Calls for Withdrawal of Peg Dunmire; Confrontation Erupts

The Central Florida Tea Party Council, a coalition of local tea party leaders, scheduled a press conference today to call on Peg Dunmire, a Florida TEA Party political party candidate, to step out of the district 8 race, as well as all other TEA candidates throughout the state.. (See Press Release Below)
Based on the recent revelations of financial ties between Democrat Alan Grayson and Doug Guetzloe, the CFTP Council questions the legitamcy of the Florida TEA Party and called upon the character and integrity of Dunmire to step aside.
Amazingly, the leadership of the Florida TEA Party, Fred O”Neal, political consultant Doug Guetzloe and Dunmire showed up unannounced in a desperate attempt to sidetrack this message. Guetzloe, in particular, stalked the location selected for the press conference, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office, verbally challenging every tea party activist he could find.
Making outrageous accusations and very insulting remarks which included calling several female tea party activists “bimbo’s” and mocking an tea party activist who happens to be an amputee by saying “I would shake your hand, if you had any”, Guetzloe’s mission was to intimidate.
We have a short video showing Guetzloe aggressively responding to Local 6 reporter Tony Pipitone, and take note of the FTP minion wearing a t-shirt with the party logo on it making every effort to interfere with the interview. This is but a small indication of the raucous atmosphere that was created by the so called ‘leaders’ of the Florida TEA Party.

Central Florida Tea Party Council
Calls for Withdrawal of Florida TEA (political) Party Candidate
Dunmire from Florida’s District 8 Congressional race.
Press reports of unsavory financial dealings, dubious political associations and questionable origins seriously curtail the veracity of all Florida TEA Party candidates.
The Central Florida Tea Party Council, an alliance of local tea party movement leaders, today calls for the immediate withdrawal of Florida TEA (political) Party candidate Peg Dunmire from Florida’s District 8 Congressional race.
With this week’s unsettling disclosure, in numerous press accounts, of a financial connection between Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson’s campaign and the Florida TEA Party, the legitimacy of TEA Party candidates across Florida, including Peg Dunmire, can no longer be defended by any prudent observer.
Accordingly, we, as a fair representation of the actual tea party movement, appeal to the integrity of Ms. Dunmire and all other Florida TEA Party contenders to make the honorable decision to protect their individual character and standing by renouncing their TEA candidacies, effective immediately.
The recently formed Florida TEA political party is a Tea Party in name only. They have been engaged in a litany of questionable actions since their formation and have never been connected to, or found any support from, the actual tea party movement or local tea party movement leaders and members.
“This appears to be nothing less than a veiled ploy by Grayson to create a split in the conservative vote and guarantee himself another two years of destructive liberal politics”, explains CFTP Council member Barbara Seidenberg.
In making this request, we would then ask the Florida TEA Party candidates to join with us in the true tea party movement as we work to bring back fiscal responsibility in government; protect the Constitution; and limit the bloated size of our Federal bureaucracy.

Here’s my post on today:
http://www.sunshinestatesarah.com/2010/06/more-ugliness-from-convicted-criminal_24.html
Sorry I was not able to be there. I would have had fun yelling back.
Doug Guetzloe is a convicted criminal (see http://www.sunshinestatesarah.com/2010/06/more-trouble-for-convicted-criminal.html) and as unethical as they come.
We must keep up the pressure on him, keep the press attention on him and his Fake Tea Party candidates, make sure that people know that they are not true conservatives, keep shining a bright light on Guetzloe and his thugs and all their actions…cockroaches always run from the light.
This is a disgrace to the real tea party patriots all over this country. Mr. Guetzloe and Mr. O’Neal should be put in jail yes Jail. They are pond scum and no better than something you would pick up on the bottom of your shoe when walking through a dog park. I am sorry it had to be Florida that would mess up a great movement that is working all across this country. In Pinellas County we also have some of their idiots who made it on the ballot last min. Thank you to the real Tea Party Patriots!

In the past I have always refrained from making comments about people I do not know. Today was my first encounter with the people behing the sham Florida TEA Party….Doug Guetzloe and Fred ONeal. I have rarely met people such as them and I hope I never meet too many more like them. They are rude, arrogant, egotistical, callous, coldhearted, deceitful, manipulating, cowardly, and downright NASTY people. They are a sham and do not represent the Tea Party movement. They are trying to destroy what I and so many other people have worked so hard for. To try and insinuate that somehow I and some of the others are Republican operatives getting paid to be involved with the grass roots Tea party movement is insulting to my intelligence. I do this because I love my family and my country and get paid $0 to it. In fact, I had to take off of work to come to a news conference today only to have this sham party interupt and make false accusations.
Imposters is all they are…….the real Tea party is alive and well and Central Florida will find out soon who we really are.
I would just like to know if Doug Guetzloe pronounces his last name “Gut low”?????
I am a Tea Party patriot, started a Tea Party group and I can tell you we spend our time far move constructive than constantly spreading lies, making accusations and then when asked to prove what has been said you are ignored. I have personally read every lawsuit document in regard to the Tea Party Party, Doug Guetzloe and I can see where Tony Pepitone and channel 6 certainly should be sued – this goes on and on.
I do not see where Tom Tillison or Jason Hoyt or anyone else for that matter has a right to tell anyone they cannot start a new party, tell them what name they can give it, tell people not to vote for them or give them any direction at all. This is America people and we have the right to choose who we vote for under what party. Just because the Tea Party groups do not like it, shame on them. Have Tom Tillison and Jason Hoyt admitted they are supporting Todd Long? So go support your candidate and let the rest of us Americans choose who we want to vote for under whatever party we choose. YOU DO NOT have the RIGHT to tell the voters of District 8 or anywhere else how they should vote and just because you do not like them ask them to withdraw. What the heck are you guys so afraid of? Must be this Peg Dunmire must have something going for her and you are afraid she will win! Youpick your candidate to vote for and I will pick mine – I am a grownup I do not need anyone to speak for me.
Ron, you think the Tea Party movement people have not been “rude, arrogant, egotistical, callous, coldhearted, deceitful, manipulating, cowardly, and downright NASTY” even to the point to tell us how we are to vote and for whom? Who do they think they are? There are a lot of Tea Party movement people that are tired of being told who we should vote for – it has to be a Republican or you are not a patriot. We I see a lot of “dirty” republicans right now and they are right here in the state of FL.
John – this is just my point! Are you an adult or a 10 year old kid! Nasty remarks like that are uncalled for by anyone and the people calling themselves Tea Party leaders are doing it daily. For Gods sake find something constructive to do and leave the voting to the people of America. You cannot control what people do in the ballot box! Not yet anyway!

Doug Gutezloe proved today that he is a Male Chauvinist Pig.. how about that coming from a Tea Party Leader.
We are ALL Tea Party leaders. Not one person represents the entirety of the movement, if that were the case the movement would be dead.
Penny, to see where they have the right to tell people who they should or should not vote for please read the first ammendment of The Constitution of the United States of America. You see, it is really no different than Peg Dunmire telling voters they should vote for her. If there is a shame to be affixed it is that someone claiming to have founded a tea party group isn’t intimate with that document.
Everybody should just power down. This is America! Everyone has the right to run for public office. Mrs. Dunmire should not succumb to bullies. If she is the reason that Grayson gets a second term, so be it. Next time recruit a Green Party candidate.
I think all of this is a little premature anyway. Why would anyone want her to drop out when you don’t even know who the Republican nominee will be? I would just as soon she stay in the race. If we get a liberal Republican, then I will vote for her. With her in I get a second chance to get a conservative in office.
The biggest problem I see is that there are so many bad Republicans running. Kelly is a state legislator. Webster is a former state legislator. Odonohugh says he is a businessman, but his only business is government contracts. He has never had to meet a payroll by his own effort. These are the types of professional politician we need to get rid of.
I personally do not like the TEA Party with Guetzloe but you gotta give the guy credit for helping start a new political party here in Florida. I think they can take out Cannon, Dorworth, and a few others. If we get a few more Democrats in office, so what? At least we got rid of a lot of bad Republicans.
Then they will know they had better vote conservative or they too will be out.
This is one of the biggest stories in the FL-Congressional District 8 Race to Replace Alan Grayson. I have been watching Jason Hoyt for just about a year now. He is bringing together patriot voices that are being heard in 2010 without political bosses telling the people what choices they will have.
The people are speaking and the evidence of that voice will be made evident in November.
Jimbo, you totally ignore the multiple, and still growing, ties between the Florida TEA Party and Alan Grayson. We in America have been conditioned to look past the obvious and cling to what we’d like to see, instead. You cannot say “I personally do not like the TEA Party with Guetzloe”, then proceed as if you never said it. It is all about values and principles, and if you accept what this party represents, then you are also making a statement that values and principles do not matter to you.
It seems clear that destroying the Republican Party is a greater priority to you than saving America from a socialist future. Of course, you will quickly counter that things are not that bad, or, the other standard reply is to say that the Republicans are also leading us down the same path. So what if “we get a few more Democrats in office”? The Democrat Party has evolved into the Progressive Socialist Party, that’s so what.
It’s unfortunate to have to say this, but if you cannot see where we stand currently as a country, and understand how we got here and what the true obstacles are, then I submit that you are among those who are part of the problem, and among those who are but a hinderance to the solution desperately needed in America.
In reference to the question about how Doug Guetzloe pronounces his name….it’s Gets-low. And as far as Peg Dunmire having the right to run for office, why couldn’t she run as a GOP or independent candidate, instead of hijacking the popular term “Tea Party” candidate when she knows full well that the Tea Party party has no affiliation with the national movement? What is SHE afraid of?
Penny, You say your a part of the tea party movement but your comments are right out of Doug Guetzzloes’ Florida Tea Party play book. Your accusation that the movement members are the ones acting and talking pejoratively is patently offensive. You cast a blind eye and a prejudice view of of the
news conference that Hoyt called and Guetzloe invaded. Looks like Guetzloe is taking lessons on how to crash other groups events from is boss Alan Grayson. Your obvious disregard for what is happening right in front of your eye and being video taped for the rest of the world to see leads me to believe you are not a part of the tea party movement. Rather, you are a Guetzloe/Grayson stooge or simply not intelligent enough to accurately process the information and will disseminate false and misleading information playing right into Grayson/Guetzloe hands.
Doug Guetzloe has an over 20 year history of fighting taxes, and big government liberals. What the hell have Jason Hoyt and Tom Tillison done? Organized some people to carry signs and grape about Government? ANYONE can do that! It takes real conviction to put up or shut up. By creating a political party everything is public record, and real change can be effected. The only way to break the strangle hold the two major parties have on the system is to go outside their system. That’s a REAL Revolution. If Hoyt and Tillison, swear that are not being paid by the Republicans, why don’t they release their financial records? Keep in mind, sometimes the person screaming the loudest, is the on with the most to hide.
I think people are getting caught up in the pettiness that they forget to see that the Tea Party Movement and the Florida TEA Party believe in the EXACT SAME basic principles. So why can’t they come together and support each other to take back our country in November? Why does there need to be all of this rumor spreading and name-calling? It makes both groups look bad.
Third Parties, whether we like it or not, have been in this country for years and are supported by our great constitution. No one should be able to take the right of a citizen who wants to run for office away from them. Or intimidate them from running. Esp. a candidate who represents and stands for everything that the Tea Party Movement is loking for. Please grow up, put the dirty politics aside, come together, and make a difference the right way.
Bickering and law suits that’s how we make News? Peg,The Florida teaparty Party knew what they were doing going with the Tea Party name. I was honest with anyone who asked before the Florida Tea Party became official. The Third party never does well in an Election.. We have seen it Split the vote time and time again. At this time in America, we are fighting for Freedom…. Really Our Country is at risk of losing its God given unalienable rights… The Tea Party is a movement that is making a difference in Elections. We can’t afford to leave Alan Grayson and his Progressive Agenda in office. We must elect a strong Constitutional Conservative ASAP..I have been with the movement from the start I actually signed on to have my own TeaParty in Feb of 09. This is what a grass roots movement Tea Party looks like. Regular people uniting on Principles and Values bringing about real change to better our Country. So time is of the essence my friends.. The Tea party is not a political party it is a growing group of informed voters. We the Tea Party Movement do not need the confusion caused by the Florida Tea Party “Political Party” A true Patriot wanting to see what is best for our Country at this very important time in History would cease and assist.
