Fair Tax Factor & Karen Diebel

Karen Diebel supports the Fair Tax
UPDATE: 6/21, 8:30pm- Just got word from Craig Miller’s campaign that he, too, supports the Fair Tax, as well as some intermediate measures. I will re-post later this week after talking this issue over with all the candidates. Should be interesting.
UPDATE: 6/21, 6pm- The Sandy Adams campaign has confirmed she is a “strong supporter of the Fair Tax”. This certainly makes me reconsider my vote and support. Still waiting to hear from Craig Miller. More on this as it unfolds.
[ORIGINAL POST]
This has been an incredibly difficult race to decide. This race is particularly intriguing to me because I live in District 24, and will be forced to make a tough decision of who I would rather nominate to defeat Kosmas in November.
On the surface, the candidates Diebel, Adams and Miller are very similar. They all claim fiscal responsibility, conservative stances on moral issues and the ability to bring necessary change to Washington. If all of them are telling the truth, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, then how does a God-fearing, freedom-loving Republican make up his mind?
Fair Tax
There is one issue, however, that differentiates Karen Diebel, and sets her above the rest: Karen supports the Fair Tax. Perhaps Miller and Adams do as well. Diebel openly supports the Fair Tax, which is a very important step in the right direction. To me, the Fair Tax is a barometer of whether you’re willing to take the necessary drastic step to stop the progressive movement in its tracks. Of course that last statement alone probably warrants its own article at some point.
But in the mean time, if you are openly supporting the Fair Tax, then I have every bit of confidence that you mean it when you talk about the need to rein in government spending. Anybdoy can say they want lower taxes, but Karen backs it up with her vocal support of a growing movement that wants to repeal the income tax.
Adams and Miller?
I am asking Sandy Adams and Craig Miller to support the fair tax. If either of the candidates personally email me (click here), or post their support of the fair tax on their website, then I will retract my public endorsement and go back to the drawing board again.
Rumors from the blogosphere
In recent days, reports have been swirling about Diebel allegedly being baker-acted. The Orlando Political Press reported it last Saturday. Although I am a huge proponent of the new media, there are drawbacks. One such drawback is the fact that reports can spread like wildfire whether they are true or not. I find it hard to believe that such a report, which as of yet has not been documented, much less verified, is anything more than a rumor that is being irresponsibly spread by people who have other interests. If this report is true, time will tell. Until then we live in America where you are innocent until proven guilty.

Tough choice for me too. I’m in CD 24.
I was on Sandy Adams solely because she said she has never, and would never, vote for a bill she hadn’t personally read.
But then she voted to created to create a huge new bureaucracy (SunRail and HSR) in the middle of a recession and followed that up with voting for a state budget that increased spending by 5.8% (some $5 billion).
Voting to increase spending? In the year of the Tea Party?
Plus she is borderline, professional politician.
I looked at Diebel and saw that she not only voted for SunRail/HSR, she was an early backer. No go on Diebel.
Deon Long is associated with Guetzloe and Tom Garcia can’t raise any money.
I guess that leaves me with Craig Miller. He’s has never held elected office and that is huge in my book.
Looking at the issues at his web site, Craig Miller looks pretty good.
No one else qualified.
Craig Miller is a GOP insider. May not have held office but he has certainly raised money for other candidates and is owed favors.
Jesse has neglected to mention that Tom Garcia is also for the fair tax . While Tom has not raised a lot of money right now, that doesn’t matter. The money is needed after the primary and will come for whoever wins. In my mind, Tom is the strongest candidate as he understands the issues, has solutions, and most of all, is well versed in the Constitution as well as the values and principles of the Republican party!
So Tom, while you don’t want a career politician, you would vote for an insider who is simply looking to put another notch in his belt?
Thanks Kimber. But you’re not making this any easier on me.
I couldn’t find any political donations or independent expenditures for Craig S Miller at http://www.opensecrets.org.
Links?
Thanks.
Craig did the fundraising – spend some one on one time talking to him as I have. You won’t be so interested.
This district, along with District 8 is being targeted by the NRCC as well as the GOP. Whoever wins will have the money to fight Grayson and Kosmos after the primary. We need a candidate that has the strength of their convictions behind them, something that Kosmos doesn’t have. The candidate must also be one that represents, understands and lives by the principles that conservatives hold dear. There is only one candidate who has that passion, the drive and truly believes in and lives by those principles! That is Tom Garcia!
Tom Garcia has supported the FairTax from the very beginning and he is strong enough to fight the special interest who make a living from the tax code.
Kinber is right on. Tom Garcia is the man to get the job done. He doesn’t want to make a career of politics…..just go to Washington, do the job of undoing all the liberals have done and go back to his regular job. He actually has to work to support himself and his family. He is the “Scott Brown” of this election!
I know Commander Tom Garcia. He’s an experienced leader. He’s also a constitutional-fiscal-conservative who has two things that are sorely lacking in politics today: common sense and principles.
I wish I lived in the District so I could vote for him. It’s a no-brainer!

Whoever authored this original piece seems to believe that raising money for the primary election should become the be all, end all. The primary should be determined by the best candidate, with the best platform, not the most money
Tom Garcia is the best conservative candidate (see my justification earlier). And, he has been a supporter of the Fair Tax–publicly–for over one year. The author’s researchers aren’t getting the facts.
Oh, one other thing. Mr Miller’s big, glossy, 8 x 11 mailer says he is the ONLY candidate in this race that is not a POLITICIAN. In fact, 3 of the 5 candidates for the 24th are not politicians. So, Miller is either stupid (for not knowing his opposition), or is intentionally deceiving the public with this massively expensive propaganda. Do we want to send another guy to Washington who can’t tell the truth?
Please They all say they support the fair tax, because it is a popular stance to take. Ask anyone of them to explain it and explain how to get it passed. ONLY deon Long can and has done so. He is the only one that can beat Kosmos. The rest have to much baggage to sustain in a race against Kosmos except Long. Might want to rethink your views.
I wouldn’t say the Fair Tax is popular just yet, certainly more so than a few years ago and I’m glad all the district 24 candidates support it.
